Homemaker
Private Pay and/or Insurance Options
Homemaker services involve assisting individuals with general household activities to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment. These services are non-medical and do not involve hands-on personal care.
Duties May Include:
Housekeeping and cleaning tasks
Laundry and linen care
Meal planning and preparation
Grocery shopping and running light errands
Light cosmetic help (e.g., brushing hair, applying makeup, filing—not clipping—nails)
Verbal reminders for medication or appointments
Stabilizing the client while walking, if needed
Restrictions:
No hands-on personal care (e.g., bathing, dressing, toileting)
No medical or nursing-related tasks.
Companionship
Private Pay and/or Insurance Options
Companion services focus on providing social interaction, supervision, and emotional support for individuals who need assistance but do not require personal or medical care. These services are non-medical and are often used to reduce isolation and promote engagement.
Duties May Include:
Conversation and emotional support
Accompanying the client to social outings, appointments, or errands
Light meal preparation
Light housekeeping tasks related to companionship
Casual cosmetic help (e.g., brushing hair, filing—not clipping—nails)
Observing and reporting any unusual behavior or concerns
Stabilizing the client while walking, if necessary
Restrictions:
No hands-on personal care (e.g., bathing, dressing, toileting)
No medication administration or medical or nursing-related tasks.
